He Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia (Mubav) hapresented this mars the exhibition Antonio Palomino and the baroque night, the first that is dedicated to the work and artistic production of the baroque painter and treatise writer Acisclo Antonio Palomino de Castro y Velasco (1655-1726) on the occasion of the third centenary of his death, carried out in collaboration with the National Library of Spain. EIt is the first monographic exhibition dedicated to his work and it does so in all its complexity, because in it paintings are combined, drawings and prints, literary production and pictorial theory, with a total of sixty-five pieces on display from twenty museums and national institutions. Structured in four sections, Through them the public will be able explorer thebonding from Palomino with the Monarchy of Spain, his conception of painting as a theological art and his figurative reflections on the mystery of the Immaculate Conception, the enormous production of mural painting, in particular the one he did in Valencia, his dedication to public festivals, y the fortune of his treatise on painting.
