LAVAC, the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries of the Valencian Community, celebrates another edition ABIERTO VALENCIA, adding like this 12 consecutive years of joint opening of doors of the Valencian theaters, spaces that work with the intention of bringing art closer to the public and shortening distances between artists, gallery owner and visitors. During a whole week: since friday 27 of September, day on which the traditional opening of the galleries is celebrated, until next Friday, day 4 October in which the event concludes after the award ceremony Cervezas Alhambra can be visited 14 exhibition spaces in addition to the usual appointment at the Center del Carme, space chosen by Abierto Valencia in which the Consorci de Museus (CMCV) gives up its Contrafuertes room as in previous editions, to host the exhibitions of the galleries of the Community that are not based in the capital.
Open Valencia, in addition to welcoming the public in the different spaces, generates a series of talks, meetings and activities that connect the public with artists and gallery owners, and provide a real and tangible vision of the current artistic situation. It is one of the most outstanding artistic and cultural events in the Valencian Community and a reflection of the current panorama.
Las galleries participants this year with the artists that will be presented are the following: Alba Cabrera in the main room with Paco Díaz and Xavier Cuiñas, Thema Gallery con Emma Shapiro, Laura Moffat, Marie Julou, Monique Bastiaans, Luis Adelantado with Manu Blázquez, Jorge Lopez Gallery with Gema Polanco, Tuesday to Friday with Nico Munuera, Rosa Santos with Marina González Guerreiro, Emilia Guimerans, Sandra Mar, Cello Matesanz, Nerea Puente, Nagore Chivite, and Patricia Varea, Vangar with Lara Ordóñez, Isabel Bilbao con Helga Grollo, Terraced House with warrior- Infante, Eduardo Infante and Susana Guerrero, Space Nivi Collblanc with Jorge Usan, welcomewith Andreu Alfaro, Miquel Barceló, Fernando Botero, Eduardo Chillida, Chronicle Team, Juan Genovés, Manuel Hernández Mompó, Jaume Plensa, Manuel Millares, Manolo Valdes, Antonio Saura, Rafa Macarrón and Fernando Zóbel.
Besides, in this edition, the Center del Carmen, as an emblematic institution that hosts part of these exhibitions, will also hold a group exhibition, with opening 26 of September, titled “Open Looks” that will be located in the Ferreres-Goerlich room, in which all LAVAC galleries participate and which will remain open until 6 October. And the Routes through the galleries return!, this time with the help of Turiart and ARCO!
