In half light, (To mig foc), brings together proposals that, from contemporary artistic practices, they open spaces to materials that, until recent times, they have remained hierarchical within subaltern perimeters: ceramics, fang, wool, textiles, embroidered, spartan, palma, wicker and other natural fibers. These subjects also include sounds and silences. The voice becomes present, claiming the oral tradition as a vehicle of memory, just like in the old philandons, those nocturnal gatherings around the home, while they performed manual labor in the heat of the shared fire.
Through the pieces and their different materials, we approach non-hegemonic knowledges associated with territories: the craft, the trades and traditions linked to the land. Safeguarding vernacular knowledge means preserving not only techniques and manufactures, but also an intangible heritage composed of oral traditions, memories, popular knowledge and collective affections. A heritage caught in the middle of fire, to the leisurely rhythm of gestures and shared heritages.
