The 70th International Habaneras and Polyphony Choral Competition will be held from 21 al 27 July at the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja. It is the most important cultural event in the town since more than 800 choralists from European countries, America and Asia. In total they will be 14 groups in competition that will take the stage of the Theater to offer us their best music and choral performance. The presenter of this next edition of the contest will be the journalist Cristina Pampín. He has worked at Antena 3, Telemadrid and in 2010 She started working at Mediaset where she was coordinator and editor of the Cuatro and Telecinco news programs for seven years.. In 2014 began teaching at the International University of Catalonia the subjects of Television Communication and Television Production and Directing in the Journalism degree. Since the year 2020 works as a presenter for the channel's news 24 h of RTVE.
As usual and following the rules of the Contest, The first work that each of the participating choirs will perform will be the obligatory one titled “With a kiss”, by the Torrevieja composer Aurelio Martínez and lyrics by José Antonio Quesada. And as in the previous two years, A screen will be installed on the Vista Alegre promenade to be able to enjoy all of the Contest's galas live and free of charge.. In addition, It will be broadcast in streaming and through local television TVT you can follow each of the galas live. It should be noted that the Valencian regional television station À Punt will also broadcast the last choral gala of the Contest live., Saturday, 27 of July, thanks to a collaboration agreement that the Municipal Board of Trustees Council has signed with this chain. And RTVE will broadcast a special summary of the Contest through the national and international channel.
