The Jove Big Band Sedajazz once again puts on stage the energy and freshness of one of the most solid and personal young groups on the national jazz scene. Made up of twenty-three musicians, The band is born from the pedagogical and creative spirit of Sedajazz: a space to learn, share and grow through the collective language of the big band. Their repertoire combines jazz standards with original arrangements that cross over into funk., el latin jazz, soundtracks or rock, always from an open perspective, contemporary and vibrant.
For this special occasion, The band will have two exceptional guests. On the one hand, saxophonist Perico Sambeat, one of the essential figures of European jazz, internationally recognized for a career that has led him to collaborate with names like Michael Brecker, Ron Carter, Dave Douglas o Lee Konitz, in addition to receiving some of the most prestigious awards of the genre.
Along with him will be the singer Sara Dowling, one of the most prominent voices of the current European jazz scene. Winner of the award for Best Vocalist at the British Jazz Awards 2019, Dowling stands out for a unique sensibility that combines the tradition of vocal jazz with influences ranging from Fairuz and Umm Kulthum to Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter.
