Of the 8 al 18 of June, the 17th Valencia Design Week (17VDW) will bring together professionals, companies, institutions, schools and citizens around twenty proposals that explore the role of design in the face of some of the great challenges of our time. Promoted by the Association of Design Professionals of the Valencian Community (ADCV) and co-created together with different agents in the sector, The programming connects this year with the motto of the ADCV Awards 2026, 'Design as resistance', claiming it as a sector and practice committed to critical thinking, innovation, sustainability and improving people's lives.
From this look, The different appointments address issues such as technological transformation, artificial intelligence, the new production processes, business innovation, design culture, material experimentation, the craft, sustainability, emerging talent or the construction of creative communities. Topics that reflect how design constantly expands its scope of action and its ability to respond to social challenges, increasingly complex economic and cultural.
And they do it with different formats and for different types of audiences., with special focus on citizenship, from talks to workshops, Conference, routes and guided tours, exhibitions and presentations of specialized publications, among others. Proposals in different formats and for all types of audiences
One of the most relevant moments of this Valencia Design Week, and one of the key events for the sector in 2026, It will be the gala ceremony for the eighth edition of the ADCV Awards. This event, that will take place 9 June at the Teatre El Musical (TEM), will bring together design professionals, companies, institutions, educational centers and representatives of the cultural field to recognize the projects of the last two years that best represent excellence, the innovation and transformative capacity of the design of the Valencian Community.
Together with the ADCV Awards, the programming incorporates two other 'VDW Featured Events', a new edition of the 'Paradís' festival of the Valencian Community Design Foundation, en CaixaForum València, and the exhibition and series of talks ‘Take your time: design, crafts and nutrition', initiative promoted by Angelográfico and Aspai to reflect on the value of conscious processes, artisanal know-how and brand building from authenticity.
The 17VDW will once again be time to enter studios and creative spaces, in the now traditional 'Design Walks'. These routes and open days allow you to learn about the professional reality of studios such as nacho timón_industrial design and Modulnova Valencia or Yonoh, FOS o Made Studio, that we will cover in the 'Design Walk: Russafa Route, he 15 of June, de 17h a 19:30h.
Reflection on the future will also have a prominent place, with proposals such as 'Design Prospects', open conversation about the role that design occupies today and the scenarios that will mark its evolution in the coming years, linked to the project Ideas for After by the young designer Héctor Montes, or 'Stand the blow', promoted by the Emerging Design Movement of the ADCV (MoDE), which will address issues such as artificial intelligence, automation, the sustainability or ethical implications of professional practice.
Along with it, The programming incorporates initiatives that value the culture of design and the creation of community, like the number release 16 from the specialized publication 'SOLO Magazine', linked to the reopening of the News kiosk and creative space & Coffee; the bibliographic exchange ‘Bona Lectura: Design Exchange’, promoted by Yonoh; the open days of the collaborative studio Pepita 36, or the inauguration of the exhibition of the work of the Oobuka space-workshop, 'Craft and design'.
The proposals are completed with initiatives that explore the relationship between design, materiality and craftsmanship, como ‘Practical Poetics’, installation of functional artwork, conceptual and decorative works of the Atelier Alzira collective, or the presentation of the 'Fragile' lamp collection, designed by Jaume Ramírez for Marset, which organizes and hosts the FOS study.
