It has been twenty years since the JDB was founded in Alcora, it was at the end of 2004 thanks to the union of a group of friends and the pedagogical project of Jordi Albert. Twenty years with two record works (Jove Dixieland Band i Groovin’up) and an extensive career in festivals and events: Vila Urban Music Market- real, Dixieland International Festival in Tarragona, Getxo International Jazz Festival, Bétera Jazz Show, Eivissa Jazz, Yecla Dixieland Festival, Tortosa Jazz Show, Hondarribia Blues Festival, Vermouth Jazz at Casinet d'Hostafrancs in Barcelona, Festival Spanish Brass Alzira, “Ainsa Castle” Music Festival, Sant Miquel d'Onda fair, Jazz in Castellón, Benicàssim Belle Époque or Festival Internacional de Jazz de Peníscola. Twenty years blowing the revelry and sarau of traditional New Orleans music, music that JDB has translated into a powerful sound, close and with Mediterranean touches.

"Music in vibration" award

The XQS project is a percussion quintet formed at the Professional Conservatory of Music 'Sant Josep de Calasanz' in Castelló. Its members have a great complicity, since they have been studying together since 7 years in the center of Castellon. XQS shows the versatility of percussion as a concert instrument, that is why his repertoire is a sample of works and songs from different eras and registers: from popular to contemporary song; from Santana to John Cage, passant per Steve Reich. All performed with various percussion instruments, everyday objects and their own body. this one 2024 they won the "Music in vibration" prize at the XXVII Chamber Music Competition "IES Ximén d'Urrea - Ciutat de l'Alcora", award that rewards the exploration of new musical scenarios that break conventionality.

The Jump of the Horse

Carlos Medina presents his debut album, "The Jump of the Horse", a musical journey that explores his facets as a composer. the album, which came out in April 2024 under the label of Sedajazz Records, it is full of original compositions spanning various genres and textures. He is accompanied on this trip by great musicians from the Valencian musical scene, used to play together, a fact that is highlighted throughout the album with vibrant and very expressive interpretations. "El Salt del Cavall" explores lyrical melodies, hypnotic rhythms and harmonies, emotionally compelling thematic developments… And we find everything from introspective songs to energetic responses. This will be the first of a series of albums where Carlos seeks to explore and expand his musical world.
