15 K-lidoscopi Short Film Festival

The K-lidoscopi Short Film Festival reaches its 15th edition this year with one of its most spectacular proposals.Recognized with the title of Qualifying Festival for the Goya Awards, K-lidoscopi has the support of the Cullera City Council, AISGE Valencia Foundation, AGITATE, the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain and numerous local sponsors who are betting, year after year, for an event that has established itself as a reference in national audiovisual. Con more of 700 short films presented in this new edition, the festival can boast of having seen many of its winners win the most prestigious awards in the sector, including the Goya Awards (he 85% of the nominated works also go through K-lidoscopi) e, even, Cannes, Berlin and the Hollywood Oscars. Without going any further, the three categories that traditionally make up the Official Section -Fiction, Animation and Documentary- They comprise a total of 52 jobs, while the other two classical sections of K-lidoscopi (Perspective and Animant) both have five works. The Smile Section, inaugurated last year, It is composed of seven works.

The 15th edition will feature two renowned professionals from our industry as main protagonists.. On the one hand, the screenwriter and Sevillian Alberto Rodriguez, winner of three Goya awards and nominated for eight other statuettes thanks to such emblematic titles as “Grupo 7”, “The minimal island”, “The man of a thousand faces”, “Model 77” or “The Tigers”, will be honored at the Closing Gala and awarded with the K-lidoscopi of Honor. Besides, the legendary actor Ramon Barea, whose interpretive career meets 45 years in 2026 and includes works directed by filmmakers such as Imanol Uribe, Enrique urbizu, Julio Médem, Álex de la Iglesia, Monxo Armendáriz, Pablo Berger, Fernando Trueba, Gracia Querejeta or Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, will collect the Golden K-lidoscopi, highest distinction of the Festival. Finally, Jesus Vidal, recognized with the Goya for best supporting actor in 2019 for “Champions”, will be named sponsor of the event. Alberto Rodríguez will be in charge, besides, to teach the on-camera acting course to professional actresses and actors, a key initiative of the festival in which he collaborates, for thirteen years, AISGE Valencia Foundation.

A multitude of professionals from the big and small screen will meet in a week that, one more time, places the city of Cullera in one of the key points of Spanish audiovisual. Actors and actresses like Óscar Reyes, Gloria March, Empar Ferrer, Joaquin Nunez, Estephania de los Santos, Victoria Salvador, Ferran Gadea, Isabel Requena or Mariano Peña, filmmakers like Josevi García Herrero, screenwriters like Pablo Tobías, journalists from the Hollywood sphere like Gui de Mulder, representatives of other competitions such as the director of Cinema Jove María Albiñana, Teresa Medina, member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain or designers such as Ancor Montaner (also responsible for the exhibition “Fashion Photograms”, which can be visited throughout the festival) They will share some unforgettable days of cinema in the town.

Together with the projections of the selected works, K-lidoscopi also offers other activities and proposals around the world of cinema. This way, The contest aims to place even greater emphasis on varied and original proposals that will enrich, definitely, the trajectory and programming of an event that does not focus solely on the screenings and the delivery of already consolidated awards, but begins to build a social and cultural dynamization of the city of Cullera during these dates. Since Tuesday 29 of September, The different sections that make up the programming of 2026: the Official Section, divided into three categories (plot short films, documentaries and animated), the Sections animating, Tandem, In Primicia y Review dedicated to the school public through discussions with professionals, the Perspective Section, that this will be dedicated to cinema as an instrument of social inclusion taking advantage of the presence of Jesús Vidal, and the Section On Cover, which this year will include the national premiere of the short documentary “Entre ashes and algorithms”, by Jordi Piris, They will be some of the fundamental pillars of the new programming.

Saturday 3 October, at 20:30 hours, The Closing Gala of the Festival will take place in the Market Auditorium in which all the prizes from the different sections will be awarded., The guests will be honored and many other professionals from the Valencian sector will attend..
