Woman at point zero is a multimedia opera based on the story of the Egyptian writer Nawal El Saadawi in which four women work together: composer, librettist, musical and stage director. We are presented with a day in the life of two women who are in prison and wonder if, Despite everything, can be free. Their lives are opposite, but both have freedom as their common destiny. While one of them fights from the basis of a self-conscious feminism, the other has lost freedom before conquering it. This montage premiered at the Aix-en-Provende Festival mixes musical compositions that dance between east and west with ancient instruments played by a sextet with musicians from all over the world.
