OF WEDNESDAY 14 ON SUNDAY 25/2
TALIA THEATER. knights, 31
It's always powerful, on an emotional scale, to witness an artistic creation that is inspired by a true story that could have remained forever in the private sphere and, therefore, would have fallen into oblivion. For that, welcome to the show A shy light and its creator Africa Alonso who transforms a story of lesbian love in the heat of Francoism into a story of collective memory and thus puts forward a new historical reference for the lesbian collective. The story is simple: Isabel falls deeply in love with her friend Carmen and has to face misunderstanding, the rejection, psychiatric hospitalization, electric shocks… A love story that, in between, probably, many others lived in this dark age, but not counted, explains the struggle and resistance to live in total freedom despite the consequences. Through a delicate staging that respects the facts, the show (already performed last year at the Talia Theater itself) it moves and allows the general public to approach events that are too often passed over in silence.
