Everything explodes

Everything explodes contains the two basic ingredients of Carla Chillida's creations: physical theater and oppositional attitude, which in this case dances to the rhythm of the protest song. The work mixes Marxist theory, pontificated by Karl Marx in person, with the daily reality of the working class and their points of view, not at all idealized. It's racist, it's sexist, is consumerist, she has lost her class consciousness and wants to be an entrepreneur, although Marx warns from the beginning: "all human history is the history of class struggle". If we understand that evictions and precarious wages are forms of violence, perhaps violence is the only possible way offered to the working class to combat inequalities. Chillida's challenge has been to achieve an entertaining and rhythmic play by introducing dense concepts ofCapital such as "means of production", "labour force" and "surplus value" to explain the big lie of the construction of wealth that capitalists who have no homeland have made us swallow, despite being the ones who mention it the most. The conclusion that Marx reaches is simple but very revealing: the capitalists need the workers but… the workers need the capitalists? S.M.
