After an edition of 2020 problem that focused on Valencian production to promote the recovery of the local performing arts fabric in the midst of the pandemic penance, The curtain opens again for one more summer, a Sagunt a Scene in which new winds blow. Inma Exposito, of the promoter Pro21, makes his debut in the artistic direction of the festival, laying new foundations that mark the step: There is no thematic line that runs through the edition and part of the programming has been prepared based on an open public call. To the crown jewel, the roman theater of sagunt, eight shows will finally access, national and international, that cultivate disciplines such as music, the dance, classical and contemporary theater, or the circus, that hangs gallons premiering the festival. The Malabó Troupe, Valencian company that has just won an IVC award for best circus artist for its piece Sophie, premiere the crazy ones 20! [4-5], a production of the Valencian Institute of Culture. The international note is given first by the Portuguese Monica Street, that in the show Carta [7] makes them go on stage—fragile and stripped of prejudices (and clothes)— fifteen classical musicians and fifteen dancers performing the music from Beethoven's Seventh Symphony. The second international note, it's piano, will give it James Rhodes [12], the british musician (with recent Spanish nationality) in love with Madrid who broke editorial barriers with the publication of his memoir Instrumental. A lover of Bach's Chaconne who in his concerts deliberately seeks to get rid of the solemnity that surrounds classical recitals, with wit and sense of humor, to make this music elevated to the Olympus of the cult.

Carme Portaceli directs the stage version of Isabel Allende's novel The spirit house [14-15], a co-production of Spanish Theater and the Festival Grec; and classical theater makes its appearance in two works, one of the Merida Festival —a classic in Sagunt— starring Alejo Sauras, Oedipus [26], and another directed by Agustí Villaronga (Bye black) and produced by Main Theater of Palma de Mallorca, Clitemnestra [28]. Dance comes from the hand of Sonoma of The Veronal [21], a piece that pivots around Buñuel, Surrealism and the sound of Calanda drums; and the flamenco artist Eduardo Guerrero [18], who in Sagunto will perform alongside the guest artists Pasión Vega and María Terremoto. All this in the Roman theater, Off Romà's free programming will offer more circus, danza vertical, stunts, clown, tightrope walking, juggling and music (Smoking souls y Don't know) outdoors in different parts of the town.
