Pedro Paramo

TAC. Provincial Council, 16 (catarrh)

In the streets of Comala the dead speak, They talk as if they were alive, They tell the stories that happened long ago, when Pedro Páramo was still alive and squeezed the place until it was destroyed. Ghost voices torment his son, an innocent Juan Preciado who did not know who his father was until he arrived at the Mexican village. Mario Gas, great name on the Catalan scene, directs the staging of one of the fundamental works of 20th century South American literature, a story of stories, Juan Rulfo's masterpiece where tenderness and violence combine to denounce abuse and corruption, where each word takes us to the roots of magical realism.
