FROM THURSDAY 3 TO SATURDAY 5/3
S. MICHAEL OF THE KINGS. Constitution, 284
In recent times, The Sant Miquel dels Reis monastery is a container for cultural artifacts related to historical memory and Franco's repression. The building was a prison for political prisoners during the civil war and the dictatorship. In March it will be the scene of a play of The Pencil Republic which narrates the stay of the president of the Republic, Francisco Largo Caballero, in the home of a socialist family for three days in November 1936. It is inspired by the memory that the author of the piece, Gabi Ochoa, he has from his grandfather Tarsilo, a young idealist who had long conversations with the unionist politician at the end of his career, when the responsibility of leading a country at war fell on him. Free tickets can be purchased at the web or through email <largoytarsilo@gmail.com>. One day before the premiere, on Wednesday 2/3, A round table on democratic memory will take place led by historian Esther López Barceló, where Pilar Taberner will participate, representative of the Association of Relatives of the Grave 21 from Paterna; Carlos Lopez, journalist and director of the El Mur project; y Eva Manez, photojournalist and author of the exhibition on the grave 21.
