The Regent

SATURDAY 12 AND SUNDAY 13/10
MAIN THEATER. boats, 15

The first version of The Regent that faithfully follows Clarín's novel. He has adapted it Eduardo Galan (He already did it with other Spanish incunabula like Tristana o The Celestina) and directs it Helena Pimenta (director of the National Classical Theater Company until 2019), to give flesh and blood to one of the great classics of Castilian literature. Set in a provincial city, Old, The novel portrays the harshness of an environment dominated by an idle upper class and a clergy that imposes a hypocritical and suffocating morality.. Classical theater is making a big splash in the Principal with this story about the confrontation between the overflowing passion of desires and love against the chains of social morality and betrayal.
