Tardigrades are microscopic organisms that can survive in extreme conditions such as very high pressures, temperatures extremes, prolonged dehydration and ionizing radiation. The tardigrades in this work directed by Sergio Caballero inhabit two humans played by Helena Font and Pablo Díaz del Río, who have been left alone because the Earth has been devastated and there are no other forms of life left. From humor and with the apocalypse as a backdrop, The tardigrades deals with universal themes such as life and death, the loneliness, the existence of God, affective dependence, the search for happiness and the way we relate, with euthanasia and climate change in the background.
