Arkady Zaides: Archive

TO THE MUTANT. John Verdeguer, 22

On stage, an empty space inhabited only by the body of the Israeli dancer Arkady Zaides. A body that is the concrete echo of the human rights violations shown on the screen: images without comments, raw and real that reveal the law of silence and testify to the indignation. The body is missing, that is to say, humanity. Archive (“file”) is a choreography that, through experimentation, it takes us beyond the impression of a simple glance. Like many artists from Israel, Zaides condemns the government's policy towards the Palestinians, as well as the conquering attitude of the Jewish settlers. A work that leaves the audience with the possibility of composing their own reading of the situation. B.L.
