The very young Tillie Walden (1996) has drawn some memories with 22 years. Pirouettes It could be a simple story about his years as a figure skating professional, but it goes far beyond competition, he (no) camaraderie or the fatigue that comes with elite sport. Walden has built this comic from his memories in such a way that the story is somewhat vaporous and causes the reader to suppose and imagine in some passages.. With a dark blue almost black ink and sporadic yellow, the winner of two Ignatz awards (the most important within the field of American independent comics) nos talks about her insecurities as a withdrawn girl who had to face the bullying school, the corseted discipline of skating, the discovery of his sexuality, public coming out of the closet and entering university.
