Laura Perez Astiberri
It was published a few months ago, but we can't resist recommending the fourth graphic novel by Laura Perez, Nocturnal. The Valencian is enigmatic, both for the content of their stories, as for his way of narrating them, with little text and a sober and elegant image marking the step. You have to make an effort to understand, but it's worth it. Here the protagonist is the mysterious night, full of magic and melancholy, the natural place for dreams that bring to light the subconscious inhabited by fears and desires. That's why black predominates, that Pérez dominates like no one else. The fantasy, the dreamlike and the spiritual are distilled again in a bowl of ayahuasca that leaves the reader restless and wanting to understand unreality., like waking up from a dream.
