The very young Tillie Walden, author of the monumental graphic memoir Pirouettes, with which he won an Eisner Award (With just 22 years), returns with a story of biographical overtones in the form of road movie illustrated. Bea and Lou undertake a flight forward that takes them away from abuse and painful losses along roads that cross lonely landscapes., devastating and threatening. Clear reflection of the mood of both. Along the way they will forge the confidence that will allow them, come clean first, and then muster the courage with which to face problems. Walden plays with plans in a masterful way in an emotional and very personal comic that makes you think about all the good things he still has to do.. AU
