In The ages of the rat, Martín López Lam, Peruvian cartoonist based in Valencia, makes a portrait about migration, uprooting and chance. Working the stain, the dirty brush and colors that shake, combines two stories in which its protagonists, Manuela and Isidoro, survive in hostile contexts, Peru in the first half of the 20th century and Europe in the years 2000. Manuela's story tells us about the migration of Chinese to Peru (some with a semi-slavery contract to work in agriculture and guano extraction), and that of Isidoro (a somewhat gambler), of the Peruvians who traveled to Europe to make a living, whether it was through work, marriage or illegality.
