The lie and how we tell it es the first graphic novel by Australian Tommi Parrish, nominated for best artist, best graphic novel, best story and best new talent at the Ignatz awards 2018, comic awards indie United States. Parrish tells of the reunion of a supermarket cashier, Cleary, with his teenage friend Tim, dividing history into two time planes. One runs through the night they spend together, talking, when it becomes clear that your soulmate has become a semi-stranger, that Cleary has idealized a friendship that no longer exists.
