Journalist Antonio Pampliega was kidnapped in Syria in 2015 along with two other companions by militiamen of the local Al Qaeda affiliate. He spent ten months captive, most of them isolated, receiving hits, humiliations and threats, a traumatic experience that he recounted in a book published by Peninsula, now transformed into a comic by Sara Soler. This is not the first time that a kidnapping has been told in vignettes., It already occurred to the great Guy Delisle in Escape of Astiberri, the difference is that this time, the kidnapped person tells it in the first person and shakes off any veneer of heroism: He was very scared and did not stop crying. In the dark tells in black and white a dark and dark event that flies over threatening the head of any war correspondent in a conflict zone. S.M.
