Tillie Walden · The dome · 2021
Con The end of summer, The dome completes the work of the American cartoonist Tillie Walden. Created by Walden with only 19 years, The book tells the story of Lars, member of an imaginary royal family who lives secluded in the palace due to an illness. Between family conflicts, Lars faces the arrival of winter with his sister Maja and a giant cat called Nemo. Although we are facing a first-time work, here we can see many of the elements of the future author of Pirouettes: care for spaces, the human figure and face, and the use of silence to set the pace of the story and that melancholy that devastates its characters.
