Ballad for Sophie

COMIC

Felipe Melo and Juan Cavia · Norma · 2022

Ballad for Sophie, by Felipe Melo and Juan Cavia, It is one of those delicious graphic novels that stand out above the rest of the publications and are here to stay.. The work tells us about the rivalry of two young pianists, Julien and François, whose lives run parallel. The story is told to a journalist by a Julien, retired, in his last years of life. So, The work tells us that story of ambition and envy that has plunged the elderly pianist into bitterness., something that contrasts strongly with the vital and kind attitude of the interviewer. The comic, peppered with plot twists and beautiful page layouts, reflect on those decisions made or not made that end up determining our lives. Definitely, will catch the reader off guard on more than one occasion, that you will surprise yourself by shedding a tear from time to time. ALEX MOSQUITA
