Path of his first decade of life, Maniatic, the Valencia International Fantastic Film Festival, has a lot to celebrate. The first reason for celebration is that the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences has accredited it as a qualifying festival for the Goya Awards. Valencia becomes, So, at the epicenter of fantasy and horror cinema. This year, Maniatic offers us a double program in competition. The first of them brings us closer to 28 short format works with the best of the genre. There will be ten national pieces that will be measured against others 18 international works to achieve the coveted award. Besides, Maniatic will offer a feature film section with five works from festivals such as Cannes, Venice or Sitges: The long march by the American director Francis Lawrence; Redux Redux de Kevin y Matthew McManus; Alpha by the French director Julia Ducornau; The Last Viking by the Danish Anders Thomas Jensen; y Resurection of Chino Bi Gan.
