Already on its way to its tenth anniversary, This competition is here dedicated to committed cinema, which has among its goals, both promote critical reflection, as the dissemination and training of Valencian viewers regarding the validity or violation of Human Rights in the world. The Humans Fest programming is divided into two parallel competition sections dedicated to documentary, either in long format or short film, as well as other parallel activities. In the feature film section we find ten works, of which three are presented exclusively in our country, and at least four in Valencia. The pieces address the most diverse topics: the double gay and migrant condition of the Syrian refugees of Mr Gay Syria, de Ayse Toprak; the abortion conflict in the southern United States of Jackson, by norteamericana Maisie Crow; the forgotten Gaza conflict in Gas the arabs, of the Spaniards Julio Pérez del Campo and Carles Bover Martínez; or the problem of labor exploitation in the China that manufactures the cell phones that we carry in our pockets in Complicit, de Heather White y Lynn Zhang.

There is more. In addition to the films in competition, Humans Fest offers us a wide catalog of forums and round tables that, throughout the festival, They will address the most varied topics related to Human Rights. Some of the topics to be discussed will be Media and Human Rights, Universal justice and crimes against humanity, o Cine, human rights and democracy. Among the guests, recognizable names such as the journalist and director of eldiario.es Ignacio School, former judge Baltasar Garzón or actor Juan Diego Botto, awarded last year at the festival for his work in defense of Human Rights. Following Botto himself, This year the Pau i Justicia award at Humans Fest will be awarded to the actress and director Silvia Munt, whose movie Pretexts will be in charge of opening the festival in its inaugural session.
