contemporary japanese cinema

THE FILMTECA. Pl. town hall, 17

That Asian cinematography is among the best of contemporary cinema is certified by all the world's festivals. In this context, without a doubt, Japanese cinema deserves a cycle like the one proposed by La Filmoteca this month. Prepared in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, the program includes four pieces highlighted by Japanese critics. They are stories of love and hopelessness, of the changes in the face of the passage of life and the fractures with tradition. Here is the list: And your bird can sing de Shô Miyake [20], Sea of revival de Kazuya Shiraishi [22], Another world de Junji Sakamoto [28], i They say nothing stays the same de Joe Odagiri [30].
