Anton, his friend and the Russian Revolution

Zaza Urushadze · Ukraine · 2019 · Script: Dale Eisler, Zaza Urushadze and Vadym Yermolenko · Interpreters: Natalia Ryumina, Regiment Adomaitis, Vaiva Mainelyte...

Georgian director Zaza Urushadze burst onto the international stage with Tangerines, a sensitive story that exposed the consequences of the Balkan War. Con Anton, his friend and the Russian Revolution, Urushadze is inspired by real events to tell us a story of overcoming prejudice. Anton and Jakob are two children, one Christian and one Jewish. We are in 1919 in a Europe ravaged by the First World War and the Russian Revolution. In that context of death and suspicion towards the other, Anton and Jakob will try to preserve their friendship.
