DESCRIPTION:Friedrich Schiller wrote his drama Cabal and Love (Intrigue and love) he 13 April 21 1784\, a few years before the outbreak of the French Revolution. Like so many works of thought - and this work is- del Segle de les Llums\, el drama schillerià denuncia el paralitzant poder del sistema de classes de l’Antic Règim\, which prohibited all admissible and legal relations between members of different social classes. The young protagonists see their attempt fail in the face of their parents' firm refusal: the noble to defend his damaged social rights; el pare de Luisa per no actuar en línia amb els temps i ajudar Luisa en la seua relació\, per a donar-li la raó a les idees caduques del‘Ancien Règime. The unfortunate end of these loves deeply interested Giuseppe Verdi at a time in his life when the bourgeois drama - the one lived by the simple people- substituïa el drama històric i el Risorgimento: no totes les injustícies socials van perir per la guillotina revolucionària\, class differences continued - and continue- sobrevivint.\n\n\n\nNova producció de Luisa Miller i primera òpera que dirigix en Les Arts el seu flamant director musical titular\, Sir Mark Elder\, i també l’acreditada regista de Buenos Aires Valentina Carrasco. La seua proposta escènica exprimix el rerefons psicològic cruel i manipulador de les relacions familiars\, contextualized in an artisanal doll factory. L’exigent sextet vocal compta com a invitat estel·lar amb el tenor italià Freddie De Tommaso en el paper de Rodolfo i reunix artistes de coneguda trajectòria a València\, com Mariangela Sicilia (Il viaggio a Reims\, The Magic Flute)\, Alex Esposito (Anna Bolena\, The Tales of Hoffmann) or Gianluca Buratto (Don Giovanni)\, amb emergents veus\, entre les quals la del baríton argentí Germán Alcántara\, presència habitual en les temporades del Covent Garden\, i la mezzosoprano Maria Barakova\, applauded in the Metropolitan and the Opera of Vienna.
