SUMMARY:Ceramics in Vallauris: del saber hacer utilitario a la creación artística
DESCRIPTION:The history of Vallauris is deeply linked to ceramics since the 16th century. Inicialmente reconocida por su producción utilitaria y culinaria\, la ciudad experimentó una primera transformación artística a finales del siglo XIX de la mano de la familia Massier\, que aportó una nueva dimensión decorativa y estética a la cerámica local. \nTras un periodo de declive a comienzos del siglo XX\, Vallauris vivió un extraordinario renacimiento en la posguerra: una nueva generación de artistas comenzó a explorar las posibilidades expresivas del material\, impulsada por la riqueza de los recursos de la zona. La llegada de Pablo Picasso en 1948 y su decidido interés por la cerámica otorgaron a la ciudad una proyección internacional sin precedentes. \nEl caso de Vallauris ilustra\, así\, la continuidad de un saber hacer técnico ancestral que\, a lo largo de los siglos\, ha sabido renovarse y enriquecerse gracias a la innovación artística\, consolidando la ciudad como uno de los referentes indiscutibles de la creación cerámica contemporánea.
