In conversation with Consuelo Rubio and Almudena Amador. \nSobre la traductora:\nMe llamo Gudrun\, I was born in 1998 in El Puerto de Santa María (Cadiz) and almost since then I speak English and Spanish. The French came later and I hope to start with the Italian soon. No\, no hablo alemán ni ningún idioma nórdico\, although it seems so because of my name. I have a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada and a master's degree in Medical-Health Translation from the Universitat Jaume I.. Estudié un año del Grado en TeI en la Universidad de Essex en Reino Unido\, where I received the award for best translation in the Translation Challenge 2018. Right after finishing my degree I went to France to teach in institutes as a conversation assistant. Mientras trabajo como traductora autónoma\, soy alumna del Programa de doctorado en Lenguas Aplicadas\, Literatura y Traducción de la Universitat Jaume I e investigo sobre la relación entre la medicina\, medical humanities and literary translation. \nPoco después de terminar el máster\, I started working as a full-time editorial translator. También he participado en congresos universitarios\, internacionales y nacionales\, on translation with plenary talks and presentations. Además\, tuve la enorme suerte de que me eligieran para participar en la Cantera de Traductores\, organized by the Ibero-American Alliance for the Promotion of Literary Translation in 2023. \nAdemás de todo esto\, I write. I was a finalist for the Adonáis Poetry Prize in 2022\, I published my first book of poems The Remoteness of Our Bodies in the Isla Elefante publishing house in 2023 and has been translated into English and Italian. As a poet I have been invited to the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid and the National Library of Spain. Es autor de numerosas obras traducidas a más de veinte idiomas\, among which stand out: Los besos de Lenin\, El sueño de la aldea Ding\, Al servicio del pueblo\, Los cuatro libros\, Días\, meses\, años\, La muerte del sol y Crónica de una explosión. Ha sido galardonado con multitud de premios tan prestigiosos como el Franz Kafka\, el Lu Xun y el Lao She chinos\, y el Flower Trade of World Chinese Literature Award de Malasia. Ha sido candidato al Femina Prix y finalista en dos ocasiones del Man Booker International\, así como propuesto para el Príncipe de Asturias de las Letras y el Nobel de Literatura. Recientemente ha recibido el Newman Prize for Chinese Literature. DESCRIPTION:Second session of the third season of our DRAMATIC READING CYCLE. We will enjoy Aeschylus' work “Agamemnon”. Because theater is also read. Coordinan María Morant y Rafael Massanet. Con Andrea Sánchez. \nEsquilo es el primero y más antiguo de los tres grandes trágicos griegos cuyos nombres son bien conocidos: Esquilo\, Sófocles y Eurípides. Esquilo nació cerca de Atenas hacia el año 526 a. C. y murió en el 456 a. C. Escribió y puso en escena unas ochenta tragedias\, de las cuales se nos han conservado siete. Aunque se puede leer de forma independiente\, Agamenón es la primera obra de la Orestea\, la única trilogía de Esquilo que conocemos en su totalidad y que se completa con Las coeforas y Las eumenides. El dramaturgo heleno nos demuestra en Agamenón lo complejo que es juzgar a una persona por sus hechos. El rey argólida que da nombre a la tragedia es considerado un heroe tras su regreso victorioso de Troya\, pero tambien es un hombre adúltero y capaz de ofrecer en sacrificio a su hija Ifigenia como medio para obtener la gloria militar. Clitemnestra\, esposa de Agamenón\, planea vengar el acto impío que cometió su marido al no dudar en derramar la sangre de su hija. Sin embargo\, Clitemnestra tampoco está libre de culpa\, ya que tiene como amante a Egisto\, un familiar de su marido\, y el derramamiento de sangre por su propia mano deberá ser castigado en su justa medida. Esquilo analiza en Agamenón la idea de justicia y nos de muestra con maestría el sufrimiento que acarrea a los hombres.

DESCRIPTION:Durante las dos próximas sesiones de nuestro Club de Pensamiento\, abordaremos —a través de distintas lecturas— el sorprendente movimiento pendular que ha experimentado la ética contemporánea como consecuencia de diversos acontecimientos bélicos\, social and geopolitical. Aunque las obras elegidas están separadas por más de seis décadas\, ambas nos invitan a reflexionar sobre las profundas oscilaciones de la moral en el actual contexto cultural y social. Analizaremos cómo\, al retorcer el pensamiento y el lenguaje\, la “Técnica” dominante puede ofrecernos una nueva ontología de la realidad y de nuestra propia arquitectura mental. \nPongamos un ejemplo: ser persona ya no parece un atributo inherente al nacimiento\, sino un privilegio reservado a quienes se ajustan a determinadas normas y a un sistema lingüístico específico. Resulta inquietante observar cómo el posthumanismo y el antihumanismo contemporáneos están reprimiendo los sentimientos y emociones\, reprogramando así nuestra posición como sujetos éticos. Las obras seleccionadas continúan el hilo iniciado la temporada pasada con la lectura de Eichmann en Jerusalén\, de Hannah Arendt. En esta ocasión\, profundizaremos en el singular libro de Viktor Frankl\, El hombre en busca de sentido\, y en el del prestigioso historiador israelí Ilan Pappé\, Breve historia del conflicto entre Israel y Palestina.\nOs invitamos a participar en esta reflexión ética y filosófica. Las plazas son limitadas\, por lo que recomendamos realizar la inscripción con antelación.
