DESCRIPTION:The Bancaja Foundation presented the exhibition Tàpies this morning at its headquarters in Valencia. Last decade. 2002-2012\, a monographic exhibition of one of the most prominent artists of the 20th century and considered one of the greatest exponents of informalism at an international level. La exposición se centra en la producción tardía de Antoni Tàpies\, from 2002 until his death in 2012 to the 88 años\, with a set of especially representative works that condense his essence as an artist during a less known period within a long artistic career of six decades. El recorrido expositivo revela cómo las ideas y formas que dieron forma a su singular y reconocida personalidad artística siguieron presentes en el trabajo realizado desde la madurez de su octava década de vida con una expresión pictórica que se vuelve más libre\, direct and refined.

DESCRIPTION:The Bancaja and ABANCA Foundation presents the exhibition Commitment to art. De Miró a Barceló\, que reúne en Valencia una selección de los fondos de arte contemporáneo de ambas instituciones\, offering a retrospective look at the evolution of art during the 20th and 21st centuries. La muestra\, comisariada por Fernando Castro Flórez\, proposes a dialogue between the collections of ABANCA and the Bancaja Foundation in a journey that ranges from the historical avant-garde to the plurality of forms of contemporary painting with works dated between 1913 y 2023. La exposición se enmarca en la colaboración entre las dos instituciones\, which led to this project being shown at the Afundación headquarters in A Coruña in October 2025 and which is now presented at the headquarters of the Bancaja Foundation in Valencia with a renewed set of selected works. The exhibition tour is made up of 86 obras\, 48 from the ABANCA Collection and 38 from the funds of the Bancaja Foundation. In this reading of more than a century of art are represented 59 artistas\, who have starred in the different pictorial movements of the period in national and international art. \nLas obras de las vanguardias presentes en la muestra van desde una revisión de las dinámicas creativas vanguardistas con obras de Picasso\, Miró\, Kandinsky\, Georges Braque\, Juan Gris\, Paul Klee\, Joaquín Torres García\, Marc Chagall\, Giorgio De Chirico\, André Lhote o Jean Metzinger\, hasta distintos modos de entender la pintura contemporánea\, as in the works of Manolo Valdés or Soledad Sevilla. En la muestra se presentan las modulaciones de la pintura desde creadores fundamentales del informalismo como Antonio Saura\, Rafael Canogar\, Manolo Millares o Antoni Tàpies\, to artists who start from geometric rigor such as Eusebio Sempere or José María Yturralde. \nLos cuadros abstractos de Sean Scully\, José Manuel Broto\, Antón Lamazares\, José María Sicilia\, Miguel Ángel Campano o Günther Förg\, y los planteamientos pop y figurativos como los de Equipo Crónica\, Luis Gordillo\, Darío Villalba\, Anzo\, Juan Barjola\, Juan Navarro Baldeweg o Miquel Barceló\, they account for the vitality of pictorial practice without drifts in a linear and historicist development. También se incluye un conjunto de piezas vinculadas a la evocación de la naturaleza y el contexto urbano\, con obras como las de Miquel Navarro\, Cristina Iglesias\, Urbano Lugrís or Julian Opie.
