DESCRIPTION:Las obras de Kiefer presentes en la colección Hortensia Herrero y expuestas en la sala noble del antiguo palacio –Böse Blumen\, Walhalla y Der Tod und das Mädchen–son el origen sobre el que se ha desarrollado esta exposición que pretende ahondar en temas como la historia\, pero también la literatura\, la naturaleza\, la música y la mitología. Entre las obras\, muchas de las cuales salen por primera vez de su estudio\, podemos encontrar Elektra\, Dryad y Danaë con referencias a mitos griegos. Otras obras como Böse Blumen\, Für Walther von d. Vogelweide y Wer jetzt keines Haus hat\, baut sich keines mehr están inspiradas en la poesía\, de Baudelaire\, Walter von der Wogelweide y Rilke respectivamente. En el caso de Der Tod und das Mädchenes la música\, en concreto de Schubert\, la fuente de inspiración. Además\, el visitante también puede disfrutar de una de sus vitrinas\, Johannis Nacht\,con helechos en su interior o de Himmel–Erde (1974)\, la pieza más antigua de Kiefer presente en esta exposición\, entre otra obras. \n  \nDanaë\, una obra monumental por primera vez en Europa \nEntre las piezas destacadas se encuentra Danaë\, una de las obras más grandes realizadas por el artista hasta la fecha —más de trece metros de ancho— que puede verse por primera vez en Europa. En esta obra\, Kiefer reproduce el interior del aeropuerto de Tempelhof en Berlín y\, al mismo tiempo\, hace referencia al mito de Dánae en forma de una lluvia dorada que cae sobre el cuadro. Según la mitología griega\, Zeus se transformó en lluvia dorada para visitar y fecundar a Dánae\, quien se encontraba recluida en una torre para evitar que tuviera descendencia. Esta obra tan solo se ha visto en una exposición en Nueva York en 2022 y podrá verse ahora por primera vez en Europa. \nAnselm Kiefer nació en 1945 en Donaueschingen\, Germany. In 1992 se trasladó a Francia\, donde vive y trabaja entre París y Barjac\, cerca de Aviñón. El artista estudió Derecho\, Literatura y Lingüística antes de ingresar en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Karlsruhe\, y más tarde en la de Düsseldorf\, donde fue alumno de Joseph Beuys. In 1980 fue seleccionado para representar al Pabellón de Alemania Occidental en la 39ª Bienal de Venecia\, y desde entonces sus obras se han mostrado en destacadas exposiciones individuales internacionales\, en museos tan prestigiosos como el Art Institute of Chicago (1987); la Nationalgalerie de Berlín (1991); el Metropolitan Museum of Art de Nueva York (1998); la Fondation Beyeler de Basilea (2001); el Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao (2007); la Royal Academy of Arts de Londres (2014); el Centre Pompidou de París (2015); la Bibliothèque Nationale de France (2015); la Albertina de Viena (2016); el Museo Estatal del Hermitage de San Petersburgo (2017); el Museo Rodin de París (2017); o el Met Breuer de Nueva York (2018); among many others.  \nKiefer recibió el Premio Praemium Imperiale otorgado por Japón en 1999\, and in 2008 fue galardonado con el Premio de la Paz del Comercio Librero Alemán. In 2007 se convirtió en el primer artista desde Georges Braque en recibir un encargo para una instalación permanente en el Museo del Louvre de París\, and in 2018 su escultura site-specific Uraeus se exhibió frente al Rockefeller Center de Nueva York. In 2020\, el presidente francés Emmanuel Macron encargó a Anselm Kiefer la realización de una instalación permanente para el Panteón de París.
