Andrés Belmonte

Mercedes Jazz coffee. Swedish, 27

Look at traditional music with new eyes, squeeze it and play with it through experimentation. This is what the Valencian flautist aims for Andrés Belmonte in his latest recording work that he launches on the market this March. Tariq it is the result of a journey, a back-and-forth journey between Valencian music and Arab culture that converges at an extremely personal point and which brings together musical echoes of the Mediterranean filtered through the sieve of the jazz contemporary. Belmonte is accompanied in this project by Efrén López, one of the benchmarks of Turkish music in Europe, the percussionist David Gadea and the double bassist Ales Cesarini. EVA GARRIDO
