Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, the Casbah of Algiers is a unique urban complex, historical memory and living space. Its narrow streets, palaus otomans, mosques and traditional houses reflect a rich cultural stratification, the result of Maghreb influences, Andalusian and Mediterranean. Inhabited still for almost 60000 people, the Casbah remains a living space, resilient and full of identity. Through this photographic exhibition, the visitor is invited to discover an exceptional heritage that continues to inspire and feed the memory of Algiers
