The University Polytecical from Valencia (UPV) announces the celebration of the second edition of RARA&Inverted, A sample of queer audiovisual culture that will take place on the days 25 y 26 September 2025 in it Alfons Roig Auditorium of the Faculty of Fine Arts.

The objective of this meeting is to consolidate an academic and cultural space in which the multiple forms of audiovisual expression linked to identities are visible and analyzed, Queer practices and communities. In this edition, The central axis is oriented towards the Community creation and audiovisual capacity to influence community construction, recognizing your role as a tool for critical reflection, cultural resistance and social cohesion.

The program will begin Thursday 25 of September with the Inaugural Conference of the Audiovisual Artist Fito Conesa, in which a selection of their works will be projected that will serve as a starting point to establish a dialogue with the artist on issues derived from his practice. Conesa is a habitual collaborator of spaces such as La Panera de Lleida, "La Caixa" Foundation in Barcelona, CaixaForum from Madrid and Macba de Barcelona. His work is in collections such as the Banc Sabadell Foundation, The University of Granada, Valls City Council and the Macba de Barcelona.

That same day the short film session will be presented INSUME FABLES, Fugging bodies ", which proposes a critical reading about narratives and problems from dissent. Among the selected works are The brown y Uranites (Tekiero Collective, In collaboration with Simones Sojo and Marina Arenas), Bolero (Dwarfs Laborde-Jourdàa), Sisters (Katarina Rešek - Kukla) y THE Gods of Supermarket (Alberto González Morales). The session will have the participation of Simone Sojo, with whom we can dialogue about the proposals and processes of collective creation in their artistic practice.

The day will conclude in the afternoon with the Round table "collective narratives and queer community", in which guest professionals will discuss the community dimension of the audiovisual and their potential as a means to generate networks, shared identities, new forms of representation and communities.

He Friday 26 of September in the morning, Section will be projected “Animated rare II”, Centered in animation as a language capable of vehicular universes queer From critical and experimental perspectives. Among the works included are Gigi (Cynthia bald, France), Diabla light (Gerva Canda, Paula Boffo, Patricio Plaza, Argentina), Y(Matea Kovac, Croatia), Dragfox (Lisa there, United Kingdom) y Pipes (Jessica Meier, Kilian Feusi, Sujanth Ravichandran, Swiss).

The sample will close Friday afternoon with the projection of Reas (2024), Argentine artist and director feature film Lola Arias, whose work documentary and fiction to problematize issues related to identity, Memory and resistance practices in confinement contexts.

REAS It is a collective work that reinvents the musical genre: The interpreters dance and sing on their past in prison, They relive their life as fiction and invent, Through fantasy and imagination, A possible future For themselves.

RARA&Inverted It is not only conceived as an exhibition program, but as a Meeting space, Debate and critical construction. From your approach, It seeks to generate knowledge located on queer audiovisual practices and strengthen the links between the university, The artistic field and civil society.

With this second edition, UPV reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of diversity, Inclusion and academic reflection on contemporary cultural transformations.
