Open couple

Dario Fo (Nobel Prize in Literature) and Franca Rame premiered in 1983 Open couple, a controversial comedy in which love relationships were treated through satire and criticism of the double standards that threaten sex and marriage when they are talked about in the public sphere..

Tired of rumors about their personal life, This artistic couple poured all their ingenuity and sense of humor into the creation of a story where they subverted roles and surprised the public.. Being honest about your ideas, They also addressed the doubts they had about the ability to sustain long-term monogamy., as the possibility of maintaining a balanced open relationship.

In 43 many things have happened in years. New technologies have expanded the possibilities of social contact. Feminism has conquered spaces reserved for the heteropatriarchy. The sociological context of the 21st century, in constant transformation, It is influencing relationships in very different ways. Almost everything has changed... but love survives.

That's why, The Valencian group Comedy Plan decided to create a new montage for this contemporary classic. A piece that was shown 'work in progress' in the last edition of Russafa Escènica - Tardor Festival and whose definitive version, in co-production with Olympia Metropolitana, premiere of 25 February to 15 March at the Talía Theater.
