Orchestra of the Valencian Community & Anja Bihlmaier

THE VALENCIA COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA, main training of the Palau de les Arts, inaugurates its new season with a symphonic concert that, before welcoming you to the Les Arts venue, will stop at several locations in the community.

An ideal opportunity to listen to one of the best orchestras in Spain live, which has earned an excellent prestige among the public and critics.

The Valencian Community Orchestra has the honor of having the German conductor ANJA BIHLMAIER, major figure at the BBC Proms and principal guest conductor of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Baton praised for its precision and musical intuition, The concert begins with Mussorgsky's Paintings from an Exhibition, to which Ravel made fame with the color and richness of his brilliant orchestration.. In the second part, Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky confronts human beings with providence, a recurring theme in the romantic firmament that the composer wanted to see here with manifest optimism. In the initial movement this motif of destiny is exposed, which will be the driving theme of the work, gliding through an Andante of sublime melodies, then very subtly for a Waltz that allows tensions to be relaxed until reaching the Finale, where the ominous nature of the page is transformed into an epic drama that culminates in a hopeful triumphant march.
