SUMMARY:Naixen oliveres a Gaza
DESCRIPTION:Un projecte col·lectiu comissariat per l’artista valencià ESCIF i Teresa Juan que reuneix alguns dels noms més destacats de l’art contemporani internacional per reflexionar\, des de la creació artística\, on the resistance and dignity of the Palestinian people. La mostra s’emmarca en el compromís institucional de la UV amb la defensa dels drets humans i amb la visibilització de la situació que travessa Gaza\, and proposes a route that revolves around a universal symbol: the olive tree that continues to sprout even in the midst of devastation. \nL’exposició presenta més de vint obres de quinze artistes\, entre instal·lacions\, fotografia\, pintura\, vídeo\, muralism and collaborative pieces. Participen\, entre altres\, Banksy (United Kingdom)\, Shepard Fairey (united states)\, Emily Jacir (Palestine)\, Lamia Ziade (Lebanon/France)\, Blu (Italy)\, Aruallan (France)\, Wilfredo Prieto (Cuba)\, Sam3 (Spain)\, Daniel Muñoz (Spain) i els valencians Fermín Jiménez Landa\, David Segarra i el mateix ESCIF\, juntament amb els fotoperiodistes palestins Majdi Fathi\, Saher Alghorra i Haitham Imad\, a més de les aportacions de la Comunitat Palestina de València\, BDS País Valencian and the Delàs Center for Peace Studies. \nEntre les peces més significatives destaca la instal·lació audiovisual creada expressament per a la mostra per l’artista italià Blu\, key figure in the recent history of muralism. L’artista libanesa Lamia Ziadé ha pintat in situ un mural realitzat inicialment el 2016 on the wall between Lebanon and Israel (al costat libanés\, to the people of Kfar Kila). La sala també acull una gran tela impresa d’Emily Jacir\, de tres metres per tres\, lent by the Simondi gallery and previously exhibited at the Venice Biennale. One of the most striking interventions is the temporary installation on the north facade of the building (Patriarch Square) de la il·lustració monumental Can you hear us?\, de Shepard Fairey -huit metres per cinc i mig-\, difosa en el marc de la campanya internacional Unmute Gaza. El mateix ESCIF\, juntament amb Banksy\, presenta a la sala una escultura de fibra de vidre que representa una destral del mànec de la qual brolla una flor\, a gesture that synthesizes the idea of ​​resistance through beauty. \nEl recorregut s’amplia al claustre de La Nau\, where the Palestinian Community of Valencia has worked together with ESCIF in the creation of painted panels that make their voice visible in the first person and collectively. L’exposició inclou\, a més\, a set of reproductions of Aruallan photographs / Hans Lucas Agency realitzades a Cisjordània i textos d’organitzacions col·laboradores que el públic podrà endur-se lliurement\, with the will that the images and stories continue to circulate beyond the room.
