SUMMARY:L’Albufera
DESCRIPTION:Aquesta exposició proposa una aproximació a l’Albufera de València\, una llacuna costanera i un dels aiguamolls més significatius del Mediterrani occidental\, entesa no únicament com un espai físic o geogràfic\, sinó com el resultat d’una superposició d’estrats corresponents a les successives i canviants circumstàncies històriques\, economic and environmental factors that have shaped this place. L’Albufera s’interpreta ací des de la seua condició postnatural\, where culture and nature are articulated in a system of interrelationships and tensions between the human and the non-human. \nLa mostra s’articula com un recorregut per les representacions de l’Albufera des de mitjan segle XIX fins a l’actualitat\, through various sets of works and documentation. Es presenta el projecte fotogràfic L’Albufera. Tangential vision (1985)\, a pioneering initiative promoted by the IVAM in the years before its opening. En aquest sentit\, l’IVAM planteja un diàleg amb la seua pròpia genealogia\, i assumeix un paper actiu com a agent impulsor de la investigació artística —més enllà de la curatorial—\, donant suport al desenvolupament de sis treballs realitzats específicament per a aquesta exposició per Bleda i Rosa\, Paula García-Masedo\, Lucía Loren\, Teresa Marín García\, Jorge Ribalta and Jorge Yeregui. The distance of four decades between both projects allows us to observe both the transformations of the landscape and the changes in the ways of researching and representing a place through artistic practice. \nAl costat d’aquestes propostes\, l’exposició reuneix representacions de l’Albufera des de mitjan segle XIX fins a l’actualitat a través de fotografies\, documents i obres artístiques que permeten explorar les diferents maneres d’habitar\, imaginar\, explore or protect this unique ecosystem. Des dels imaginaris romàntics del segle XIX i els usos agrícoles tradicionals fins a l’expansió turística\, la industrialització\, les reivindicacions ecologistes i els desafiaments contemporanis derivats de la crisi ecosocial\, el recorregut reuneix petjades\, relats i vestigis que revelen les múltiples capes que conformen l’Albufera\, and which invite reflection on the possible futures of this common territory.
