DESCRIPTION:L’objectiu de ‘La col·lecció de l’IVAM fins hui’ és oferir un recorregut contextualitzat per la història de l’art modern i contemporani valencià\, national and international proposing a historiographic reading of the fundamental currents of the 20th and 21st centuries. Més enllà d’una narració lineal\, es busca propiciar relats múltiples\, generar encreuaments i obrir espais de diàleg entre la Història i les històries a partir de les particularitats de la col·lecció de l’IVAM\, the originality of which resides in rethinking the notions of canon and hegemonic history in creating a narrative in which the "great figures" are intertwined with lesser-known names. \nLa proposta respon a un model híbrid: a backbone that intertwines with alternative readings. Al costat del trajecte seqüencial\, es pot triar entre quatre itineraris que destaquen dimensions transversals com la importància del color\, les ecologies\, feminisms or conflicts. \nEn sintonia amb el compromís de l’IVAM amb la sostenibilitat\, el disseny museogràfic ha sigut realitzat per l’estudi Smart & Green Design\, specialized in eco-design and environmental audit of exhibitions and museums. \nLa cronologia de constitució de l’IVAM va determinar una col·lecció marcada per la historiografia europea\, la qual cosa comporta desequilibris en termes de gènere\, raça\, inclusion and equity. A més\, malgrat la coherència en les adquisicions al llarg del temps —fins i tot travessant diferents direccions\, etapes i maneres de fer—\, the collection has gaps. No obstant això\, these absences constitute an affirmation of their status as living heritage: un ecosistema de memòries i vides\, en el qual s’entrecreuen la labor de la crítica amb la de galeristes i personal administratiu\, el col·leccionisme i l’assessoria\, artistes\, curadoria\, moments\, llocs… Tota col·lecció d’art contemporani és\, per definició\, infinity: un relat obert\, unfinished and multiple. \nLa mostra comprén obres de més de 260 artistes com Ad Reinhardt\, André Masson\, Bouchra Khalili\, Cindy Sherman\, Claes Oldenburg\, Dani Karavan\, Doro Balaguer\, Francis Picabia\, Gillian Wearing\, Gino Giuseppe Soggetti\, Gustav Klucis\, Jacques Lipchitz\, László Moholy-Nagy\, Joan Miró\, Man Ray\, Laurie Simmons\, Marcel Duchamp\, Martha Rosler\, Robert Frank\, Walker Evans\, or María Blanchard among others.
