Kate Clover

When I only had 5 years, Kate Clover's hands were already sliding over the keys of a piano. Then he began to strum the strings of a guitar, crossed by the punk rock that permeated her when she was a teenager. Chinese Rocks de Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, the first song he learned to play, It was already seen as a declaration of intentions. A garage punk theme, with strong guitar riffs and an unrestricted vocal performance that would mark his path into music.

Steeped in the underground culture of the city of Los Angeles where she grew up, Clover was always drawn to the otherness of the West Coast counterculture.. However, It was his brother's copy of photographer Glen E's book.. Friedman ‘Fuck You Heroes’, where Clover first saw herself reflected in the energy and intensity of her punk-rock images. "I still didn't know what any of that meant.", explains. «I was attracted to the rebellion that he felt he shared with the subjects of his work. I connected with courage ». Inside those photos, Clover's incipient restlessness found a cause to cling to. Beach weekends turned into concert weekends. «I was returning home in a taxi smiling, sweaty, saliva and beer. I found my place ». Determined to enter the artist's fraternity, He immersed himself in the salvation of rock 'n' roll.

Experienced in several projects, This charismatic Californian was forged, first in local bands like X, Germs y The Gun Club, and then chart your own path alone. The trigger for all that was the trip that 2019 made to Mexico City. A four-day trip that turned into four months and that would lead to their first album, Bleed Your Heart Out. An album that captures the transformation that Clover experienced during her stay in the Aztec capital and from which a short documentary also emerged., directed by Marion Sosa and Clover, under the same title that includes the entire process.

Upon returning to the United States, He formed a band and quickly made a name for himself in the Los Angeles music scene.. Thus earning a certain reputation for his explosive live shows. Previously he had also released the EP Channel Zero, mixed by Carlos de la Garza (Wolf Alice).

Bleed Your Heart Out promises to be a true testament to the fringe skating and surfing cultures that surrounded the artist growing up.. Released on 22 April via SongVest Records, the full-length debut of this Los Angeles-born artist, contains the true punk energy of artists like Iggy Pop, PJ Harvey o Patti Smith. All this accompanied by a vintage aesthetic full of color and very Blondie iconography..
