DESCRIPTION:The National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuous Arts "González Martí" will celebrate the next one 18 de juny un acte d’homenatge dedicat a Enric Mestre\, one of the fundamental figures of contemporary Spanish ceramics and an essential reference in the renewal of the ceramic language since the second half of the 20th century. \nLa data triada coincideix amb l’aniversari de la vinculació d’Enric Mestre amb el museu al juny de 1979\, a particularly significant relationship between the artist and the institution that today wants to be publicly recognized and celebrated. \nL’acte comptarà amb una benvinguda i presentació institucional a càrrec del director del museu\, Jaume Coll\, i de Javier Mestre\, after which an overview of the artist's career and figure will be offered by Román de la Calle. \nA continuació\, es projectarà el vídeo Enric Mestre\, la impronta del paisaje\, presentat per Rafaela Pareja\, i es donarà pas a una taula redona coordinada per Carmen Marcos\, en la qual participaran Juan Ortí\, Xavier Monsalvatje\, Josep Pérez Camps i Antonia Carbonell. La jornada continuarà amb la projecció d’Enric Mestre\, personal testimonies and will conclude with a final debate open to the public. \n\nEnric Mestre\nEnric Mestre Estellés (1936-2026) ha sigut un artista excepcional\, referent of sculpture and plastic expression in ceramics during the last fifty years. La seua labor no sols es va centrar en la creació artística d’obres de gran rigor estètic i tècnic\, but also in materials research and collaboration with leading companies in the ceramic sector. Added to this is an intense teaching career that has decisively marked several generations of artists who use ceramics as their main means of expression. \nLa seua obra\, basada principalment en l’escultura ceràmica\, abraça també la pintura i el muralisme\, with numerous interventions in public works that mark the Valencian landscape. El seu reconeixement artístic i crític es va veure acompanyat d’una important projecció internacional\, especialment a través de la seua participació en l’Acadèmia Internacional de Ceràmica\, of the Executive Council of which he was part and from where he promoted the celebration in Valencia of the 32 AIC General Assembly. \nLa relació d’Enric Mestre amb el Museu Nacional de Ceràmica i Arts Sumptuàries “González Martí” ha sigut constant des de 1979. The artist participated in exhibitions organized by the institution com 12 ceramistes espanyols\, Dos cultures\, un diàleg\, La ceràmica espanyola i la seua integració en l’art\, Pottery masters and their schools or Talking to a Master. Recentment\, a més\, he received the "Professional Excellence Award" granted by the Association of Friends of the Museum at the proposal of the same center and the museum has incorporated two new works by the artist into its permanent collection.
