SUMMARY:State of Culture in Spain 2025
DESCRIPTION:The University of Valencia will host next Monday 11 of May the presentation of the State of Culture in Spain report 2025. Cultura para la paz\, prepared by the Culture and Communication Observatory of the Fundación Alternativas. L’acte\, organitzat conjuntament amb ACICOM\, amb la col·laboració de l’Observatori Cultural de la UV i Econcult\, proposa una reflexió sobre el paper de la cultura davant dels actuals desafiaments geopolítics\, social and digital. \nLa presentació tindrà lloc a l’Aula Magna del Centre Cultural La Nau (18 hours) i comptarà amb la participació d’Albert Moncusí Ferré\, vicerector de Cultura\, Esports i Vincle Social de la Universitat de València\, in charge of the institutional welcome. Hi intervindran Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón\, president of the Alternatives Foundation; Patricia Corredor Lanas\, report survey coordinator; Núria Lloret Romero\, professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and author of the study; i José Ignacio Pastor Pérez\, president of ACICOM and also author of the report. \nL’Informe sobre l’Estat de la Cultura a Espanya 2025\, que arriba a la seua dotzena edició\, analyzes the main challenges facing contemporary societies: la crisi del multilateralisme\, l’acceleració digital\, geopolitical conflicts and the rise of the so-called "culture wars". El document planteja la necessitat de reforçar la cooperació cultural i situar la cultura com un bé públic essencial vinculat al benestar social\, sustainability and peace. \nEn línia amb l’esperit de MONDIACULT 2025\, que se celebrarà a Barcelona\, l’informe defensa el paper de les polítiques culturals davant dels discursos d’exclusió i odi\, and claims to consider culture as an essential public service and cultural rights as fundamental human rights. Així mateix\, demands that culture be recognized as an independent Sustainable Development Objective in the international agenda after 2030. \nL’informe sosté que\, en un context marcat per la fragilitat institucional i l’avanç de moviments autoritaris\, culture is one of the main instruments to combat social polarization and strengthen democratic coexistence.
