SUMMARY:Encounters in El Carmen: La sala Espiral y su influencia en la música y el diseño gráfico
DESCRIPTION:The Center of the Carme Culture Contemporary (CCCC) dedicate the next 8 de octubre una nueva sesión del ciclo ‘Encuentros en el Carmen’ a la sala Espiral\, reference of the musical avant-garde and graphic design during the decades of 1980 y 1990. El encuentro\, which coincides with the 45 aniversario de la apertura de la sala valenciana\, will begin at 19.00 hours with a talk about music and design led by the Valencian singer and producer Quique López. En él participarán Edu Gómez\, known as DJ Veneno during his time in Espiral; Dj Greg Esbar; and the collector and music manager Marcos Casañ. La sesión incluirá la reproducción de algunos de los temas más asociados a la trayectoria de la sala\, as 'Dunne'. La propuesta rememorará la historia de la desaparecida sala de L’Eliana\, precursor of musical movements in the years 80 y 90\, as well as the graphic design of musical posters. \nEspiral fue un referente nacional de los sonidos ‘pop-rock’\, ‘post-punk’ y ‘dark wave’\, importados de Gran Bretaña y Centroeuropa y\, más tarde\, of electronic music and the cultural movement that originated around what is known as 'Destroy Route'. In the years 90\, Their sound mutated towards the electronics that defined the 'Destroy Route' (‘Ruta del Bakalao’) and a decided commitment to 'underground' music. \nLos carteles como iconos de modernidad \nEspiral fue una de las salas más prolíficas en cartelería. Buena parte de estos trabajos fueron realizados por Armando Silvestre y Elisa Ayala\, in charge of giving visual identity to the nightclub. Su estilo bebía del diseño gráfico\, el cómic valenciano y la ilustración de la época\, using manual techniques such as photomontages or colored photocopies. Sus carteles ayudaron a redefinir el imaginario visual de la modernidad musical y de la noche valenciana\, contribuyendo a enriquecer el diseño gráfico de la Ruta\, que en la actualidad se reivindica como un auténtico movimiento cultural y artístico en el que participaron Quique Company\, Paco Bascuñan o Javier Mariscal\, among others.
