DESCRIPTION:La Filmoteca col·labora amb DocsValencia en el seu desé aniversari\, convertint-se en seu del cicle dedicat al cineasta\, producer and Swedish journalist Fredrik Gertten. A través de la seua productora WG Film realitza documentals que investiguen i denuncien els patrons globals de la cleptocràcia\, la corrupció\, el funcionament dels lobbies\, la financerització i l’extractivisme\, practices that involve attacks on human rights and lead to precariousness for large groups of the population. En Push\, Gertten acompanya per diferents països a la relatora especial en vivenda de l’ONU\, to try to understand who and why they expel citizens from their homes and cities. Breaking Social exposa com el contracte social ha sigut infringit pels ultrarrics. Bikes vs Cars introduïx una reflexió sobre el canvi climàtic i la sostenibilitat analitzant els problemes que comporta el domini urbà dels cotxes enfront de les bicicletes. En Big Boys Gone Bananas! shows the process of harassment and lawsuits that the multinational Dole Food Company developed against Gertten for a previous documentary in which he denounced the struggle of twelve Nicaraguan agricultural workers against the corporation. Gertten has received numerous awards and international recognition both in the cinematographic field and in the defense of Human Rights.
