DESCRIPTION:Case Oats is an indie folk-rock band formed in 2018\, con cierta y seductora querencia por aquello que se solía calificar como country alternativo\, based in Chicago and formed by Casey Gomez Walker (voice)\, Max Subar (guitar)\, Jason Ashworth (low)\, Scott Daniel (violin) y Spencer Tweedy -sí\, Jeff Tweedy's son (battery). \nComo indican en la nota de prensa de su LP de debut\, sus letras hablan de gorras de béisbol\, colas de caballo\, columpios de porche y “todo lo demás que falla”\, y son interpretadas por Casey con una voz sencilla a la vez que impasible. Canciones sobre seguir adelante\, crecer en el Medio Oeste (de donde ella es originaria\, de ahí el título del disco\, also)\, la lealtad a las personas con defectos que desesperan\, gratitude for pain and how things end. Toda esa fuerte intención se saborea al escuchar “Last Missouri Exit”\, whose slight touch of pastiche makes the album sink in effortlessly. O como han escrito en la reseña del mismo en Paste Magazine\, “con calidez\, intimidad y especificidad\, la banda de Chicago demuestra que la frescura no tiene por qué surgir de la mera novedad\, but of the fidelity of the lived experience”.
