DESCRIPTION:The Sala Matilde Salvador of the La Nau Cultural Center of the University of Valencia hosts this Friday 29 de maig\, to them 19 hores\, l’estrena en castellà de Brazaletes\, the new Amorodio Teatro production directed by Santiago Cortegoso and with dramaturgy by Ernesto Is. La representació\, que ha esgotat totes les invitacions disponibles dies abans de la funció\, also inaugurates the collaboration between the Lluís Vives European School of Thought and the Performing Arts Classroom of the University of Valencia. \nL’obra recupera un episodi de resistència simbòlica davant la dictadura franquista ocorregut el 28 of September of 1975\, just one day after the regime's latest shootings. Durant un partit a l’estadi d’El Sardinero\, Racing de Santander players Aitor Agirre and Sergio Manzanera jumped onto the field wearing black armbands as a sign of protest. \nInterpretada per Javier Castiñeira\, Brazaletes converteix aquell gest -aparentment discret\, però profundament subversiu en el context d’una dictadura agonitzant-\, en una reflexió sobre el compromís\, disobedience and democratic memory. \nLa producció arriba ara per primera vegada en castellà després del seu recorregut en gallec i ho fa amb una gran acollida de públic\, to the point of completing the capacity of the Sala Matilde Salvador before its premiere. La peça amplia\, a més\, aquesta memòria incorporant altres figures de futbolistes compromesos políticament\, des de Bebel García\, afusellat a l’inici de la repressió franquista\, fins a Sócrates\, symbol of resistance during the Brazilian military dictatorship. A través d’aquests referents\, l’obra planteja una mirada crítica sobre les estructures de poder\, violence and commercialization that cross contemporary sport. \nLa funció comptarà amb la presència i el testimoni de l’exfutbolista valencià Sergio Manzanera\, one of the real protagonists of the story that inspires the work. \nLa representació s’emmarca en una de les línies prioritàries de la Universitat de València: the recovery and dissemination of democratic memory. Amb aquesta iniciativa\, the institution reaffirms its commitment to a cultural program that understands the performing arts as a space for public reflection and critical memory. Així mateix\, Brazaletes marca l’inici de la col·laboració entre l’Escola Europea de Pensament Lluís Vives i l’Aula d’Arts Escèniques UV\, una aliança destinada a impulsar activitats que vinculen pensament crític\, artistic creation and civic commitment from the university level.
