Written in 1932, Blood Wedding is based on a real event, occurred in Almería in 1928. It all started with a wedding to which the bride did not attend. Shortly after, the body of one of her cousins was found and she appeared very close by., with the dress torn. Lorca, admired by how life gives us new dramas in an unexpected way, weaves a work in which the passions that make us human come together, from love to suffering, revenge, fear and hate. The result is a tragedy that gives shape to a Lorca idea: their characters have to be seen “bones and blood”. The beauty of its verses makes it the greatest love tragedy written in our language.. From respect, from the conscience and humility of someone who has learned a lot, but he knows nothing, Teatro del Temple launches itself into this new challenge, make a blood wedding without customs or period references, but from the timeless beauty that Lorca's poetics suggests to us.
